Underground Storage Tank Facilities (Primarily Gas Stations) Infrastructure Registrations



Installation, Retrofit, and Removal Registrations

The Underground Storage Tank (UST) compliance program oversees the installation, retrofitting, and removal of UST systems to verify the work is completed properly and by qualified, trained, and certified individuals and companies. Tanks containing heating fuel that are less than 1100 gallons are exempt from registration requirements. UST systems which are subject to the requirements of the UST compliance program can be found at gas stations, manufacturing facilities, schools, and hospitals. Please note the UST Program also issues Installation/Construction Permits and Facility/Operating Permits. If you plan to open a new facility, please check with the UST Program as early as possible so that you leave ample time get proper permits/registrations.
