Vapor Recovery Permits, issued via the Underground Storage Tank (UST) program, are required to control volatile organic compounds from being emitted to the air when gas stations receive deliveries of fuel and also when people pump gas into their cars. Tank systems which are subject to the requirements of the UST compliance program can be found at gas stations, manufacturing facilities, schools, and hospitals. Please note the UST Program also issues Installation/Construction Permits and Facility/Operating Permits. If you plan to open a new facility, please check with the UST Program as early as possible so that you leave ample time get proper permits/registrations.
