Registration of facilities that possess radiation machines
The Office of Radiation Control (ORC) protects the health and safety of Delawareans by regulating the use of ionizing radiation in medicine, industry, research and education, and to provide health protection resources in the event of a radiological emergency. ORC performs pre-operational inspections for new radiation machine facilities, inspects and registers facilities that use radiation machines, registers facilities that use radioactive materials, registers radiation service providers, and issues certificates for administering radiation to patients, by qualifying medical and dental radiation technologists and technicians.Each person who is engaged in the business of installing or offering to install radiation sources or is engaged in the business of furnishing or offering to furnish radiation source servicing or services in this State shall apply for registration of such services with the Agency. Licensure renewal forms are sent to the facilities annually, prior to the expiration of the current license. Please contact our office with any questions or to obtain a renewal form.
