Certified Emission Repair Technician



Permits for the operation of vehicles driven by certified emission repair technicians during drive cycle testing

Permits are issued to Certified Emission Repair Technicians to allow them to drive vehicles without current registration on public roadways in order to complete repairs requiring drive-cycle testing for OBD-II sensor readiness purposes.

Term

Permit periods range from one to five years so that permit expiration coincides with the expiration of ASE-L1 or DEEP certification.

Fee

$25 per year; fees of $25 to $125 are charged, depending on the length of permit period (1-5 years).
